Fleet key management
Fleet key management is physical control at scale: a locking cabinet or key box, an authenticated checkout, and a log of who had which vehicle’s key and when. KeyTrak, Traka, and Morse Watchmans are the systems that actually do this, and for a fleet you own outright, one of them is the right answer.
None of them reach a second credential a Tesla carries: the owner’s own third-party app authorization, which is what actually drives the car and lives in the owner’s Tesla account, not on a hook. That distinction only matters the moment a “fleet” vehicle is not actually yours — a customer’s Tesla in for service, a trade-in, a loaner someone else owns.
What does fleet key management mean?
Tracking which key belongs to which fleet vehicle and which driver currently has it — through a physical key control system (a locking cabinet or electronic key box), an authenticated checkout log, or software that ties a key to a vehicle assignment. The goal is accountability: if a fleet vehicle is missing, damaged, or misused, the key log says who had access.

Do fleet key management systems handle a Tesla's digital key?
No. They control the physical NFC card or fob exactly like any other fleet key, and the card itself remains what it always is — no remote wipe, no per-card usage log, valid until someone deletes it at the vehicle's own touchscreen. None of them can see or manage Tesla's separate digital credential: the owner's third-party app authorization, granted and revoked through the owner's own Tesla account.

Fleets and custody are still different problems

A fleet vehicle is yours indefinitely, so a key management system answering “who has the key” is the correct and sufficient question. A customer’s Tesla in your care for three days is not a fleet vehicle at all: the owner’s consent is the only basis for touching it, and at the end you owe that person an account of what happened. Key tracking hardware was never built to answer that.
